How to verify an agent
Going abroad means paying money and trusting someone with your future. Ask these questions first, of us and of anyone else.
Before you pay
- Get the fees in writing. Ask what each payment covers and what is extra.
- Ask for a receipt for every payment. Keep them all.
- See the offer from the institution itself. An admission or offer letter should come from the university, with your name on it.
- Check the university directly. Look up its official website and contact the admissions office to confirm your place.
- Ask what happens if your visa is refused. A clear refund policy, in writing, is a good sign.
- Visit the office. A real agent has an address you can go to.
Warning signs
- A guarantee of admission, a scholarship or a visa
- Pressure to pay today
- Payment to a personal account with no receipt
- No address, or an office that is never open
You are welcome to visit us at Flamingo Hall, 2nd floor (2nd door), Mbezi Beach, Makonde, Dar es Salaam and ask any of these questions in person.
